Hillary Clinton is back. The former First Lady steps up as President-elect Barack Obama's new Secretary of State.

Earlier this year, you'd have been hard-pressed to imagine Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton having a friendly cup of coffee, let alone working together. What a difference a few months can make. On Monday, President-elect Barack Obama announced his National Security team, and the pick getting the most attention is, of course, Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State.

The former New York senator says it was a hard decision to make, but she is looking forward to her new role in Obama's administration: "I believe the best way to continue serving my country is to join President-elect Obama, Vice President-elect Biden, the leaders here, and the dedicated public servants of the State Department on behalf of our nation at this defining moment. President Kennedy once said that engaging the world to meet the threats we face was the greatest adventure of our century."

John Charles Reedburg of Datzhott wonders if the pair can co-exist: "The question for Hilary [sic] Rodham Clinton, slated to be named secretary of State on Monday by President-elect Barack Obama, is whether she can forge the sort of close relationship with a former rival that is crucial to giving the nation's top diplomat the credibility to get things done."

Obama Waffles says, "For two years Barack Obama questioned-even mocked at times-Hillary Clinton's lack of foreign-policy experience. On March 5, 2008, Barack Obama blasted Hillary, saying, "What exactly is this foreign policy experience? Was she negotiating treaties? Was she handling crises? The answer is no."

The people at Hillbuzz couldn't be happier: "We would follow Hillary Clinton to the very gates of Hell and back, so if this is the move she wants to make, we enthusiastically support her. And the world sure needs her. For the next four years, foreign policy will be in very good hands, and American interests abroad will be very well served. There is no one we can think of who loves America more than Hillary Clinton. As Secretary of State, she will serve this nation well, and we will support her in her new role in whatever way we can.

Even Rush Limbaugh endorsed the choice. How can you argue with that? Do you think Hillary is a good choice? Let us know by commenting below.
