Twenty-one-year-old Indian tennis star Sania Mirza decided not to play in her native India because Orthodox Muslims criticized her dress, speech and patriotism. The short skirt she wears to play the sport and the fact that one of her ads was filmed at a mosque has made her persona non grata.
When Mirza filmed an ad on the premises of a mosque (though not in the area of male prayer), Muslims shouted that the place was now unholy because of the incident. Mirza remained silent and later apologized for unwittingly causing a disruption.
Mirza was photographed with her feet up next to the Indian flag. Hindu fanatics filed a case against her. Muslims accuse that she is not a follower or a patriot due to the fact that she endorsed birth control before marriage in the context of AIDS prevention, saying "sex should be safe before or after marriage." Pre-marital sex is crime in the Muslim faith.
Only cricket players abide by Islamic dress. When Muslim male footballers play, they also violate the Islamic dress code. Poor male and female laborers who cannot afford black dress for work are similarly guilty, yet no clerics provide suggestions or solutions in these cases. Mirza is ranked is 29th in the world, but due to the incidents above has decided not to play in tournaments in her native country.

The story is good. Why should we not protest. India is the country of patience, But what is this. Cick out those people who want to do anything in the name of religion.
Thank you for this story, which I have seen elsewhere before it sank from view.
Sadly, religious fanaticism is not confined to to Islam or Hinduism. There's plenty of it in the West, with Christian fundamentalists having had power in the US for the last 8 years. Some even hope for a world war.
Bet all those condemning her are male. Ask if their gods or god created Ms Mirza
More worryingly they also deny Evolution, and promote pseudo-science in the form they call Creationism. These folk believe Fox News too.
Sania mirza is an upcoming player and as such we should look at her as an athlete only. She is loved because of her skill in tennis.
