Braylon Edwards went to bed last night on a winless Cleveland Browns team and woke up on the first place New York Jets. Michael Crabtree finally decided to get his head on straight and sign a contract with the San Fransisco 49ers, despite saying that he was prepared to sit out the entire year.

Edwards Gives Jets the Wide Receiver They Covet

First reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Cleveland Browns and New York Jets have come to an agreement that sends wide receiver Chansi Stuckey, special team's specialist Jason Trusnik along with conditional draft picks to the Browns for disgruntled Pro Bowl wide receiver Braylon Edwards.

The deal gives head coach Erik Mangini, whom coached the Jets last year, players he knows and can count on in his attempt to rebuild the franchise. Edwards, who made the Pro Bowl in 2007, give the Jets a legitimate vertical threat to go along with their powerful running game.

This is the second major trade made between the 2 clubs. Cleveland also traded the 5th overall pick in last year's draft to the Jets, who then drafted quarterback Mark Sanchez.

Michael Crabtree Ends Holdout and Signs with 49ers.

The only pick in the 2009 NFL draft to still not sign with their respective team finally did, ending several months of disputing between Michael Crabtree and the San Francisco 49ers.

Crabtree agreed to a 6-year contract, however, the 6th year can be voided if the receiver meets certain performance clauses. The 49ers had until November 17th to ensure that Crabtree could play this season and with the team having early success, it was best to get the deal done now so it could not be a distraction down the stretch of the season.

Crabtree refused a 5-year deal that would have paid him $20 million with nearly $16 million guaranteed in hopes to get a contract closer to Darrius Heyward-Bey, the 7th overall pick in draft by the Oakland Raiders.

Coach Mike Singletary and the 49ers offense could get a real boost to a sluggish offense depending on how quick Crabtree can learn the playbook. The 49ers are already without star running back Frank Gore due to an injury, but he is expected to return after their bye in two weeks. The former Texas Tech standout had 41 touchdowns and 3,127 yards in just 2 seasons.
