From the Men's Vogue Photo Shoot.

If Shanny really wants to be a Blueshirt, he's going to have to bend this once and tryout for the team. '

I admit it. I am obsessed with three little words that I find myself putting into the Google search engine on a daily basis. BRENDAN SHANAHAN NEWS.

Why the obsession? Well, everyone wants to know if Brendan Shanahan will be a New York Ranger this season. If he isn't being offered a contract from the Rangers, then where is he going?

Pre-season has already begun, especially for those teams heading across the Atlantic to start off their seasons in Europe. For those watching the Rangers, everyone is asking, "Where is Brendan Shanahan?"

Since July 1st, the first day of free agency, I have become obsessed with knowing which team Brendan Shanahan will be playing for in the 2008-2009 season. This obsession has basically plastered my blogsite.

But I'm not the only person obsessed with this question about Brendan Shanahan's whereabouts. Since the Rangers began their pre-season games, my blogsite's stats have gone up ten fold with people searching for news on Brendan Shanahan's whereabouts.

So just where is Brendan Shanahan?

Well, rumor has it he's sitting in his Manhattan apartment. Sound like a prison? You would think he was treating it as such since he won't return press phone calls.

Why isn't he playing hockey? Well, to catch the rest of you up to date on what has transpired over the summer, here's the breakdown...

On July 1, free agency began and the New York Post reported that Brendan Shanahan would be returning as a New Jersey Devil. Pre-mature news...yes, it was.

Shortly afterwards, the majority of the New York Rangers of the 2007-2008 season parted ways with the Rangers (including mega-superstar Jaromir Jagr). General Manager Glen Sather told Shanahan that he was 'keeping the door open for him.'

Because of those words, Shanahan told his agent not to take calls from other teams. He also told him not to negotiate with any other teams. His eyes were set on being a New York Ranger.

August came around. No contract.
