Look How Many Famous Friends I've Got!
When you are a global A-list megastar like Victoria Beckham aspires to be, it's not really important to have any discernable talent. It doesn't even matter if no-one really knows what you are famous for, they just have to know who you are. And the best way for that to happen is to throw massive parties full of as many real global A-list megastars as you can get, and that is exactly what Posh Spice got for her 34th birthday. With her money, flash cars and expensive handbags are an every day occurrence, but publicity is the best kind of present anyone could give her. So happy birthday Posh...
Her actual birthday was last Thursday, which she spent with David and the kids at a Mexican restaurant called Pink Taco (which is apparently also slang for 'vagina', though we doubt this influenced her decision to have a family meal there), having glammed it up the night before with Kate Beckinsale and Eva Longoria Parker at the latter's new Hollywood restaurant Beso (which, as far as we are aware, is not named after any rude part of the human anatomy).
However, Sunday night was the main event, as she pulled out all the stops to get her celeb buddies to attend another party at Via Veneto in Santa Monica. So, who went? Well, try this on for size: Beckinsale, Longoria Parker, Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith, P Diddy, Usher, Elton John, Heidi Klum and Gwen Stefani.

By Mike Small, April 23, 2008 at 11:37Poor DB... I think the expectations are too high for him. He came to America to 'save soccer'...that's a pretty tall task. Maybe if the Galaxy put some better players behind him, things will start to happen. Enjoyed the read Sir!

By Robyn Stubbs, April 23, 2008 at 12:09You may be right, Mike. If Beckenbauer and Pele couldn't keep soccer going in America, Beckham has one tall order on his hands. And yes, good read Sir Stephen!
