Is there a future in the Emerald city for former MVP Shaun Alexander?

Is it at all possible for team in the NFL to be successful without a running the rock? In 2007 we saw the Seattle Seahawks struggle week after week trying to desperatly find their running game. It is very possible that the 2005 league mvp will not suit up this year for the Hawks as he has seriously underachieved since getting paid.

Lets rewind the game film back to 2005 where we saw this football team do no wrong. They went 13-3, won the NFC West, had the first round by, and home field right through the playoffs. They won their first playoff game in over a decade, captured the teams first ever NFC championship and went to the Superbowl in Detriot before losing to the Steelers. A season to remember even though they came up one game sort. What did that 2005 team have that the previous two years have lacked? In 2005 Shaun Alexander rushed for a franchise best 1,880 yards, capture the single season touchdown record with 28, and was named the league MVP. Running the football in 2005 made things in the hudle very simple for quarterback Matt Hasselbeck. Teams had to respect the run thus opening up the passing lanes giving Hasselbeck the chance to pick apart teams secondaries Having Alexander in the back field would force opponents to fill the box with five men, making it simple to run that true west coast offence. Five men in the box would result in man to man coverage and alot of blown assignments, equally a tone of Seahawk touchdowns. All because teams have to respect the run. Shortly after winning the mvp Alexander was about to get paid mvp money.
