A predicament of monumental proportions has graced us with its presence. We stand less then a week away from the possibility of history. The New England Patriots, currently sitting at 15-0, have an opportunity to achieve the incredibly elusive perfect season.
The perfect season is so hard to achieve because there are so many things that work against it. You have tough matchups, injuries, and then you have the resting your players for the playoffs decision.
When added together, these factors make the accomplishment extremely rare. All of this being the case, here we have the most hated team in the National Football League on the brink of doing the impossible. I say most hated because it's safe to say the combination of Bill Belichick's demeanor and his desire to run up the score on teams all season probably have placed the team in the darker of lights.
Back to where I was going with this. The predicament I touched upon before lays in the hands of the New York Giants, not the New England Patriots. I already believe that the Patriots should be careful with the use of Randy Moss and Tom Brady. Naturally Bill Belichick will do nothing of the sort on Sunday.
The main issue here is what the New York Giants should do. They've clinched the playoffs. In some schools of thought, there is not a reason in the world Jacobs, Burress, Manning, Strahan, and Umenyiora should even sniff the field, let alone play on it. But let us look at this at a higher level. Let's all be honest here. The Giants should consider themselves lucky if they even make it out of the wild card round.
They cannot beat the Cowboys. They cannot beat the Packers.
