Got a lot of errands to run, while juggling work and daily chores? Does it seem like you're constantly shopping, cooking and cleaning with little to show for it? Do you crave more family time? Doing tasks when you're most efficient could save you up to 5 hours a week.
Efficiency relates to right brain/left brain chemistry that makes us more logical on certain days, more imaginative on others. The right side controls creativity and solves problems.
Mondays=Creativity. Write out a business plan, devise a menu, or brainstorm ideas for an upcoming project. You've just spent the weekend in a right-brain, creative state of mind so if you try to tackle left-brain tasks, like accounting or bookkeeping, you're not as likely to be productive. Seventy-five percent of people are not efficient on Mondays as it can take up to 6 hours to activate the left brain.
Tuesdays=Productivity. On Tuesdays, pay bills, do the accounting or bookkeeping, review or edit documents, look over current or upcoming household or business projects. The left side of the brain has kicked in now and is totally focused.
Wednesdays=Break. Use this day to run errands, grocery shop or make appointments. At midweek, your left brain needs a break from the regular work you've been doing. Besides, supermarkets tend to be less crowded on Wednesday.
Thursdays=Cleaning. By now, your left brain's getting tired so doing some physical tasks will give it a break. Your right brain's kicking back into gear, coming up with any work-related solutions that may have been bothering you. By doing physical things that require little concentration, you'll give it a chance to work these out.
Fridays=Small Tasks. Fridays are the least productive days because you're tired! Address little details, short easy tasks and things you didn't have a chance to do earlier like simple filing or sewing buttons back on clothes. You'll feel productive, yet conserve your energy, which in turn will give you extra strength.
