To put on fake strip lashes, gather the eyelash strips, eyelash
glue, regular tweezers, mirror, pencil eyeliner, liquid eyeliner
and gel eyeliner (optional).
Applying false eyelashes is a fiddly business, but without the
right tools and a bit of time, they can end up askew, falling off,
or less-than-realistic looking, so follow these steps for the best
results.
- Put on eyeshadow first.
- Line eyelid lashline with glue. The quality
of the glue does affect how well your lashes will stay on.
- Pick the lash strip up with tweezers.
- Roll the lash strip around a pencil. This
gives it a good curve to fit across your natural lash.
- Put a small amount of glue on the curve of the
lash. Put extra at both ends.
- Wait 30 seconds-1 minute for the glue to get
tacky.
- Apply. With the pre-glued lash strip held in
the middle with your tweezers, look in the mirror and half close
your eye and aim to put the middle of the glued lash strip onto
the pre-glued middle of your own lash line. Use the tweezers to
get the inner corner on the lash and the the outer part of the
lash in the correct position.
- Hold for 1.5 minutes. When your lash is in
position, gently push the inner and outer corners down at the
same time with your fingers to set in the right position.
- Apply eyeliner. Apply eyeliner so it looks
less obvious you are wearing lashes.Use a black eyeliner pencil
and put a small amount from the inner corner of your eye to where
the lashes end as thick as the lash strip is. This gives the
effect of the whole top lid being lined. Line under the bottom
lash. You may choose to use the gel eyeliner to build up the
intensity of the colour and finish with the liquid gel to get the
most impact.
- Wear up to 24 hours, but don't sleep with them on.
