Joan Russow (MED, PhD) - former lecturer in global issues in environmental studies at the University of Victoria, and former national leader of the Green Party of Canada. Co-ordinator of the Global Compliance Research Project- which calls upon governments to translate their international rhetoric into action at the national and local levels. Author of the Charter of Obligations-350 pages of international government obligations incurred, and commitments made related to Human rights, social justice, peace and the environment.
