Preamble:

Nothin' beats a week in Hawaii after a long, cold and dreary winter in Vancouver. The best part about taking off to a tropical island at the end of February is that spring feels like it's full swing when you get home. For one blissful week, Stephen (the husband) and I hiked, snorkeled and surfed across the small Hawaiian island of Kauai. We also drove a fair bit in our rented convertible, with the iPod on shuffle and the wind in our hair. We were so busy not worrying about anything (it's actually against the law to bring your worries to Kauai) that we nearly forgot we had a camera with us! So here's what we managed to snap between dips in the ocean, reading sessions on the beach and trips in the car with the top down - it's not much, except maybe a nice distraction from the office and an invitation to daydream, Hawaiian-style.
