There are a number of ways people look at gays in the community:
1. Girl on Girl is okay but Man on Man is not
2. It’s okay in the privacy of your own home
3. As long as I don’t have to see it then it is okay
4. It’s not right in the workplace or the military...
I could go on and on and on, but why? This topic is silly. Why, in this day and age, does something like this bother anyone? How does someone else’s sexual happiness affect you?
I don’t understand how we are such a “free,” country, but we don’t have full equality for gay marriages. Gays pay taxes as couples, so why should they not be allowed all the benefits also?
And what does your sexual preference have to do with being in the military? That is like saying you can’t be in the military because you’re black or a woman, both which have been proven WRONG. We allow “children” (under 18) to serve, and die, but if you like the same sex, then you are less of an American? EXPLAIN this to me!
I can’t help but to wonder what America really is made up of…especially our United States Military. Now, anyone that truly knows me, knows that my love for the military is as strong as that of my children, however, I think it is time for things to be looked at and changed.
You can fight for your amendment rights, you can go to another country and die for someone else’s amendment rights, but you yourself are not allowed the same privileges.

Re: The Naked Reporter Defends Gays
By grandmaandmom, June 2, 2008 at 20:27All I feel like saying is,(WOW). I have to agree with you, everybody creams their own Twinkie the way that makes them happy. I sure as heck couldn't stand anyone telling me what I can or can't do when it comes to my sexual gratifacations, and even though we are both very happy females, would you like me telling you what to do and what not to do?? I think not!!! This world of ours has so many more problems it seems unjustifiable to waste ink, energy or even thoughts about people's sexual preferences. So people wise up, come into the year 2008, times they are changing. Back then, we were pretty set in our ways, for instance, we were properly introduced, chaperoned, while dating for at least a year, absolutely no sex before marriage, another year before it being proper to bear a child, nine months which you were not permitted to go out in public, just remember as women we had no rights at all. As the advertising slogan goes, "We've Come A Long Way, Baby". So lighten up, don't worry what makes the couple next door to you happy just be thankful they are, it sure beats someone living next door, when the cops are there day in and day .out. The best way to make changes are to let things change, after all we're still people. Help make the small changes and in time everything will change.
