What do living room politics have to do with U.S. Congress? Ryan Liedtky tells us.

Today, however, was a bit different. Something very exciting happened. I was at my Mom's, and her boyfriend was exploding on my brothers. He was yelling at my brothers, "Everybody in this house is lazy. Unless it has to do with video games or sports, nobody gives a damn. My son has three children and a house three times this size and they manage to keep it clean, and his children are all younger than you are. You guys know better, you know when to clean and when to pick up."

Of course, he didn't consider that my Mom's house is extremely small. When you apply logic, which this guy isn't logical, of course, neither is my Mom. She's more impulsive, and this guy spends too much time thinking about God and too little time studying ethics and morals, which is partly why he's still married to his wife but dating my Mom, for well over six years now. Anyway, when I apply logic to the situation, it seems that a larger house would be easier to clean and keep clean than a smaller house. More room means more places to put things.

But, I kept my mouth shut at his idiotic ramblings. He stomped out of the house, slamming the door on his way. My Mom went through the hallway crying, saying, "I'm the only one who does any work around here. You guys bring in two pieces of firewood and I have to bring in a full arm-load."

I was sick of hearing it then, so I stopped her. "Woah," I said, "Wait just a minute. I walk into this house and I see empty food wrappers lying all over the living room and kitchen. I see empty pop bottles and empty pop containers.
