I have been with Mary Kay Cosmetics going on four years as an Independant Beauty Consultant and I constantly find myself asking the same question over and over;

'If Mary Kay Cosmetics has such wonderful products then how come so few young fashion conscious women are willing to buy them from me?'

I've always thought that the answer lies in the fact that I am a 36 year old man making a brave attempt to sell cosmetics and skin care products and the unique business opportunity that Mary Kay Cosmetics provides to women.

I first joined Mary Kay Cosmetics in the winter of 2002 after walking the Mary Kay booth which is a regular fixture at the Vancouver Pacific National Exibition every single year.
I knew a lot about Mary Kay Ash and the company that she founded on 'lucky' Friday, Sept 13th, 1963.
While I had read the book, Miracles Happen by Mary Kay Ash, in my grade 11 high school marketing class, I had always proscratinated in joining the company perhaps due to the stigmas associated with men who sell cosmetics.

There are so many misconceptions about Mary Kay Cosmetics today and I often wonder who spreads these nasty rumours which can be disproven with one visit to the Mary Kay Cosmetics homepage.

Mary Kay Cosmetics;
-is not tested on animals
-in not full of 'old ladies' trying to make a buck
-is one of the largest cosmetics manufacturers in the world
-was founded by a woman for the benefit of enriching women's lives
-is only sold by Independant Beauty Consultants who do not sell in stores.
-is based on the 'golden rule' which is to "do unto others as you'd have them do unto you."
-is used by many famous and well known movie stars and is not an unfashionable cosmetic line to be seen using.

Even with the many many more ethical accolaids and awards that Mary Kay Cosmetics has earned over the years, including the U.N.
