Manish Gautam is the working journalist from Nepal primarily reporting on health, environment and other social issues. He started his career in journalism at early of 1999. Before his entry to journalism , he received a fellowship from Panos South Asia to work for the book 'POSITIV LIFE" on HIV/AIDS. This book includes the social, economic and cultural roots of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. The 15 stories of young Nepali men and women in this book are told in their own moving words and they force to look at the stark reality of the lives of Nepali youth today. This work has given him the instinct to be attached with the issue of HIV/AIDS. In 2006, he received UNGASS media awards from PANOS Global AIDS Program to work on HIV/AIDS. In 2003 he was selected media fellow to do investigative reporting on HIV/AIDS by South Asia Regional Delegation of Red Cross Red Crescent. He has worked as Script and Text editor for Young Asia TV/Nepal for a year in 2002. He made several documentary films as well. He has travelled to USA, Canada, Australia, Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands, Denmark, Thailand, South Africa, India, China and Tibet. You can contact Manish Gautam on : manish.nepal@gmail.com
