Whenever I think of my age today, which happens to be 35, I really can't say that I feel particularly old at all.
Recently, I was playing soccer with a much younger friend, when a child about 5 years old asked me if I was my friend's father.
I laughed at the amusing idea that I could look like the father of my 27 year old soccer buddy at 35. Perhaps I have been somewhat negligent with my nightly applications of eye cream and anti-aging serum.
However, when it comes to the subject of age and the opinions that people may have of me I can only reaffirm my belief that one's age depends entirely on one's attitude.
There are so many people today who are brainwashed with the idea that the moment you hit some random age like 25, or 30 or even the big 'FOUR OH' you somehow are transformed into a worthless person resulting in a visit from the fashion Gestapo who will be coming for you that night to drag you off to the local firing squad. Has society finally succumbed to the social evil that our lives are less valuable because many of us are all older and aging a bit more every day? The very idea rings a familiar tune of time about 60 plus years ago when a madman instituted policies to exterminate "inferior races" and any other people who didn't measure up to impossible standards. This ultimately led to the senseless murder of millions of Jews, Rom (gypsies), gays and lesbians, and people with disabilities.
The reality is that every human being gets old and dies sooner or later. We have lotions and potions and creams and color products that can help fight and even treat visible aging with much success.
