Dilana's Supersoul

Dilana, portrait, Supersoul

I have so many personalities, but I'm real.

When you're digging deep into your past, your feelings and emotions, your heart and your soul, to find inspiration and lyrics, your mind goes to places that you haven't been in a long time, or ever. '

While Dilana is well-known as the runner up on the Rock Star Supernova reality TV show, she's been a singer and performer since she was five years old. Nowadays, she's feeding off her own audience, digging deep into her soul and delivering shivers up the collective spine of fans, from America to Iceland and abroad. It's the only life she's ever really known. At 15 years old, she left home, joined a traveling duo and later became one of the highest paid performers in the Netherlands. She's currently making her mark in the MP3 era of music, and opened up for Aerosmith in Las Vegas on April 28, 2007. She'll make you think of Janis Joplin, but then totally blow your mind. She says what you see is what you get, and she certainly turns some heads with her distinctive persona and rare voice. Here is her story.

I sing and my voice comes out. It's not something I specifically taught myself; it's always just been natural for me. I started singing really young - probably when I was about five years old. But, in fact, I'd always wanted to be an actress; I went to drama school and then at 15, I left home and left school, joined a traveling duo and just never ever stopped. I've always loved being on stage and I totally feed off the audience - I'm a little vain. (laughs) I'm a Leo, so it's in my blood.

I just finished touring with Rock Star Supernova for two months. We did a nationwide tour and then went into Canada, and I opened for them for every show. I think if the band had chosen me, it would be taken a little more seriously than it is. Lukas is a great guy and I love him to death - he's a great singer and performer - but I don't think the audience takes him seriously. I don't really know what the reason is or why I say that; it's just what I feel when I watch them. I think if I was up there, people would see a lot more truth and honesty on the stage, rather than someone who's trying too hard to be a rock star.

Although I tour with people, I'm living the life of a solo artist. While it has its benefits, in terms of freedom, it also has disadvantages. I don't have the back up that a band has with a label and stuff like that. But I am really busy, recording and writing, and my album will be ready soon. It will either be released independently or through a label.

Good job, Dilana! No one

Good job, Dilana! No one could have said it better than you!
I would like to add that Dilana is a very talented and beautiful singer and songwriter. She sings and lives with passion. I have met this amazing woman and can honestly say that I have never met anyone so instantly warm, open and trusting. She has a huge heart and is truly caring and giving. She gives generously to charities, especially those that help children and encourages others to do so. Dilana is the whole
package! People that love her voice and get to meet her fall in love with her instantly. It's really a shame that Aerosmith didn't take the time to meet her. Frankly, it's their loss. She could have done a hell of a duo with Steven Tyler. She has a continuously growing, loyal fanbase.
Dilana, your fans will always be there for you. We don't expect you to be perfect. We love you as you are. We will catch you when you fall and help you back on your feet. We support you with your well-deserved, growing success! Good luck to you, girl!

Great article-you go

Great article-you go Dilana, truth be told, your honesty prevails, and that's what keeps this woman REAL!!! I admire her so much and give her great credit for going after what she truly feels in her heart. "MUSIC", plain and simple, from the HEART. You came in 2nd place on RockStar, but in reality, you came in 1st place.

I, also was VERY disappointed that Dilana did not get to meet the band-members of Aerosmith, after all, she was THEIR opening ACT!!! I love Aerosmith, have been a faithful follower since the 60's, have EVERY single album, yes I mean VINYL guys, they have every made, so it surprises me and frankly DISAPPOINTS me that Aerosmith would not use proper "PROTOCAL", so-to-speak, to at least meet-n-greet their opening act.
Look guys, they have been around doing concerts and shows for what, over 30-yrs. now? There is NO excuse, for bad behaviour!!!, they of all people, know the drill, I am sure they had a hard time breaking into this crazy music world, AND continuing problems during the 80's, drugs, drinking, AND you were accepted BACK into the rock world from forgiving audiences!!! through the 90's--.so they should set the example!!!

SHAME ON YOU TYLER AND PERRY!!! AND, if by chance anyone affiliated with or, if you know Aerosmith personally, PASS THIS ON!!! They should know better, THEY OWE DILANA & MAGNI AN APOLOGY FOR BEING SUCH BIG-HEADED, I don't care about anyone else, OLD FARTS!!!, Have they gotten such "BIG HEADS IN THE BUSINESS", THAT THEY CAN'T CONDUCT THEMSELVES in a shared-musical, professional way??? Think about that guys!!! Shame on you Aerosmith!!!

Dilana - I'm surprised you

Dilana - I'm surprised you didn't meet Aerosmith when you opened for them...isn't it courteous to introduce yourself to your opening act?

But I'm sure it was amazing just to be associated on the same gig...that's huge, as will be your career. It already is. They should feel lucky to have been associated with you. Music is ready for some new legends.
