Ever since I've reached that amazing age where wisdom and social maturity have finally developed within my personality, I've looked at our global future with equal amounts of hope and of fear.
There is always an old cliche that comes to mind when I see what's happening in our world today.
At the present moment the Israeli government has chosen to continue searching for it's past at a sensitive archaeological site in Jerusalem which has made the search for a peaceful future even more uncertain as Arab citizens are infuriated.
Even as the Iraqi government is attempting to hold onto a country that is under siege, US President George W. Bush is preparing to send another planeload of soldiers to keep Iraq from completely unraveling at the seams.
It is times like these that I so desperately miss the wisdom and vision of the late Egyptian president Anwar El Sadaat and that of King Hussein of Jordan who passed away from cancer several years ago.
Both of these leaders had lived to see the day when peace treaties were signed with Israel which are still in effect so many years later.
I also miss the late Israeli president Yitzak Rabin and even Mother Teresa and Princess Diana whom I expect are watching from above.
I wonder what they might to us if they were still alive today?
While the fighting continues and more countries like North Korea and Iran are now being investigated for their nuclear development projects which Iran claims are for energy purposes, our planet is now facing new threats of extinction from a completely different source.
