The President of Zambia died in Paris after suffering a stroke.

The President of Zambia Levy Mwanawasa died after a stroke Tuesday.

He put Zambia on the map because he was one of the ones who had the courage to speak up against Robert Mugabe's dictatorial rule in Zimbabwe. He also was a ardent champion of Democracy.

I was amazed when he spoke up and alerted the world as to the tragedy that was and continues to be Zimbabwe. May he rest in peace.
