The game took yet another an unexpected turn when James was forced to quit due to a potentially life-threatening infection in his finger, and Alexis was stuck hobbling after a bad bang to the knee. Alexis Jones: Why did we try to vote Amanda out? Amanda – and this meant to be a compliment – was a bigger threat on the jury because people liked her. As you’re wittling down to a smaller number of people, it’s less about who is the physical threat and more about who’s the jury threat, the social threat. Amanda obviously had Ozzy on the jury, she obviously had James on the jury and if people have automatics then that poses a major threat.

Sending Amanda to Exile Island was a strategic move. We were in an alliance so I didn’t think she would find the idol and later use it against me. I knew I wasn’t going to send one of the boys and it was a given that I was going to choose Natalie if I won the challenge. During the challenge, I made a deal with Cirie that if she didn’t cut my rope and I won, I’d take her with me. So then it was just between Parv and Amanda, and Amanda had already opted to go.
