After their draw at Spurs, it's make or break time for Chelsea.

So, here comes another Grand Slam Sunday, as these weekends apparently now have to be known. The Big Four's dominance of the Premier League is such that when they are playing each other, we have to use a new kind of phrase to describe how immeasurably important and exciting such occasions are going to be. The problem is that the games themselves never quite live up to the billing, and that was certainly the case on this season's first Grand Slam Sunday.

Manchester United came away from Anfield with a win after a tepid match, while Arsenal beat Chelsea in a similarly anticlimactic affair, so will the rematches be any better? Well, they will certainly mean more than they did back in December, when the wins for the top two were certainly significant, but not as much as they would be as we move towards the end of March. For Chelsea and Liverpool, Easter Sunday is a time of reckoning and a massive chance to give themselves a springboard towards glory this season.

This weekend is a crucial one for Chelsea's hopes of winning the league and particularly for Avram Grant's chance of still having a job in the summer. The Blues have mostly done well under him in the Premier League, and that is why they are up near the top despite disappointments in the Carling Cup and FA Cup recently.
