Indiana Becks & The Golden Balls

Would Indy Cry?

Last season, with all the injuries I had in the second half of the year, was frustrating for me," I kept getting injured and had knocks that kept me out for a month or six weeks when I was desperate to play. This season I hope to play every single game for LA and the fans will be able to see me 100 per cent fit for the first time. The biggest thing is that I show everybody what I can do on the field. That's what I am interested in more than anything '

My attempt to keep all you Becks-Maniacs out there up to date with the latest gossip, scandal, clothes and (occasionally) football from the world of the Beckhams in Los Angeles... this week Becks dresses up as Indiana Jones, while Posh cracks the whip!

David Beckham's attempts to portray himself as an all-American hero might fall flat whenever he opens his mouth and talks with his squeaky English voice, but isn't stopping his attempt to brand himself as just that. His latest Pepsi advert will certainly go some way to helping him cultivate that image as he gets to dress up as Indiana Jones, just in time for the release of the latest film, starring Harrison Ford, later this year.

It certainly beats young Cruz dressing up as Batwoman for manliness and Becks pulls off the brown leather jacket/fedora look with typical panache for the advert, which also features the likes of Thierry Henry, Ronaldinho, Cesc Fabregas, Lionel Messi and Frank Lampard. The ad is to promote Pepsi's new social networking site Youniverse (get it?!), which allows Pepsi 'fans' to set up their profiles and compare interests with celebrities like the footballers named above.

We're guessing Becks likes Indy, but you can find out when you sign up to that thing, which we're sure won't get boring after just five minutes of reading what kind of sandwiches Goldenballs likes to eat. One of things he's bound to mention being a fan of is tattoos, and he's recently unveiled his latest 'artwork', a Chinese tattoo that runs down his side and is a proverb that means: "Death and life have determined appointments. Riches and honour depend upon heaven." Ok.

Soon that lad is going to have more skin covered in ink than not, but as long as he's happy, who are we to judge? His latest grand unveiling took the form of a charity match on Saturday between LA Galaxy and FC Dallas at the grandly-named Pizza Hut Park, which finished 0-0 and was observed by Fabio Capello's England coach Franco Baldini.
