Maht Karolei is an 18 year-old drummer with a turbulent past. Maht grew up with an abusive father who beat him on more than one occasion. His father was a musician who introduced him to the guitar and piano at a young age. However, Maht’s love for music became more painful than enjoyable as his father would abuse Maht when he made mistakes. He eventually found therapeutic escape in playing the drums, an instrument his father was unfamiliar with. Maht used his love of the drums to conquer many of the demons in his life, including the relationship he had with his dad.
