Yesterday, at City Hall in New Orleans, the City Council unanimously voted to demolish 4,500 public housing apartments. During the council's meeting protesters gathered outside and tried to force their way into the meeting to voice their opinions while the fate of their roofs hung in the ballots. The growing crowd turned violent and the police used force to defuse the situation, sending many to the hospital and jail-house.
