As some of you know, I'm a big fan of Strongbow Cider. Obviously I found it necessary to visit the home of such deliciousness.
I've spent many nights with Strongbow, so this trip was kind of like going home to meet my boyfriend's parents (only my boyfriend is served in a 20 ounce glass.) Within a few days of my trip, I was doing a pretty good job of scoring free drinks. By day three, I decided to keep track of them.
So here they are. Here is my documentation of all the free drinks I got in England. I'm a lucky girl.
Drink 1: I have drinks with a friend I went to university with ten years ago. He starts the buying train, but I buy back, so it's equal. A round for round buying technique is good when you're with friends. Separate tabs are for cheap people.
Drink 2: I meet up with my friend who lives in L.A. and her gentlemen friend. They had a bit of a long distance fling going on. I'm offered a pint of Strongbow, and accept. He ends of being a douche bag, so I'm glad I took that beverage.
Drink 3: One bottle of Becks. My friend's mom packed a lunch for my train ride to London, and put beer in it! That never happened in high school…at least not to me.
Drink 4: One bottle of Stella from a Brazilian guy. There was a bar in the hostel we were staying at, and I definitely needed a beer. We start chatting it up. He buys me a beer. There's a quick snog at the end of the night, but nothing else. He was a terrible kisser. (P.S. Don't tell anyone I stayed in a hostel.

Oh, and I always thought we brazilians were good kissers.
Maybe you just weren't lucky :)

I have heard a lot of comics rely on alcohol to make them funny...Maybe you should make sure you can be without all the liquid courage. Not to make you feel bad or anything - you sound like a fun girl with a good sense of humor and I like your writing, but I just happen to have a lot of experience with alcholics who are only funny up to drink 3....Sometimes it's just not funny and shouldn't be made light of.
