Welcome Home Troops. There are calls from Britain's Military for the U.K. to give our troops a 'hero's welcome'.

I do not believe that all our troops would appreciate a 'hero's welcome'. British troops have suffered more as a result of bureaucratic ignorance.

Troop barracks are often dirty, unhygienic and have a negative impact on those there. Troops were also promised a Christmas bonus previously, to keep moral and performance up, but the bonus of 3,000 pounds was retracted.

The reasons Britain went to war alongside America so confidently, was because of the errors and fabrications presented by the U.S./Bush Administration in 2002/2003. Britain was blinded by wrong information, which the highest officials in the land believed was true.

Our Army believed they were going to fight for the Iraqi liberation and to hold the peace while the American Administration negotiated the first democratic vote in Iraq. Iraq's borders were not secured. Death and destruction engulfed Iraq very quickly in 2004, 2005 and 2006. The rate of deaths by attacks in 2007 dropped to the 2006 level, which was not an emphatic accomplishment.

With Iraq's borders still insecure, the rate of attacks could still rise and get worse, and only the U.S. troops on the ground and Iraqis will be open to those attacks.

P.M. Brown was fast to pull British troops out of Basra, the only real progress story of Iraq - it would be hypocritical to celebrate when Iraqis are still being slaughtered. The image of a welcoming committee for British troops would look plastic and false.
