We captured this huge, violent wedge tornado in southwest Manitoba on June 23, 2007. We were blasted by mud and flying corn stalks as the tornado crossed the road less than 200 yards away! Check out TornadoVideos.net for more insane tornado video.

One powerful day my fried B and I were hang gliding from this tiny ridge in Alberta. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KdewEnePMEE The conditions were awesome. I launched first and caught a very strong Thermal right off where the glider in the video lands. When I had quickly gained 700 feet or so B launched into the same thermal. Very unusual on the 60 ft ridge. Soon after B launched, I was drifting with the wind, disconnecting from the ridge to follow the thermal cross country. I noticed a Dust Devil forming below him. As my altitude passed through 4000 ft, B and I were riding the lift above a large dust devil about 2000ft tall. They were everywhere across the prairie from horizon to horizon. B and I caught up with each other near cloud base some 40 miles out, inside of a swarm of millions of white butterflies. Huge Storm cells formed in the afternoon and some tornadoes were reported in Saskatchewan. It was a great day for soaring. What an experience!
Through the years we spent many hours chasing storm cells in vehicles to try to experience a tornado. At gas prices today, that's one hobby likely to be curbed. Thanks for the exiting video.
