We don't cater to f*cking amateurs.

My cat pees on my rug every other day. It's a great opportunity for me to say "she peed on my f*cking rug." '

What would you do if someone peed on your rug? If you're anything like The Dude, you would seek compensation. Not everyone can relate to The Dude, but those who can come together each year to celebrate the Coens' creation at the Lebowski Festival in cities around the world. Those that don't understand...well they don't really matter. Lebowski fans don't cater to f*cking amateurs. For the rest, here is a breakdown:

1) What is the Lebowski Festival, and when and where do they take place?

It's a two-day celebration of TBL, including bands and the movie followed by a huge bowling party with costume, trivia and bowling contests and LOTS of White Russian drinking.

We've had them in NY, LA, Vegas, Austin, London, Edinburgh and the annual event in our hometown of Louisville, KY. The LA one happens October 12 and 13 this year.

2) What is your role in the festivities?

I am one of the "founding dudes" and also travel to each site and put it on.

3) Can you recall the first time you came to know all that is Lebowski?

The first time I saw it I was fairly unmoved by it. The third time I loved it. The 87th time was the best so far.

4) What was your reaction to the film?

Indifference followed by revelation.

5) Who was your favorite character and why?

Walter is f*cking hilarious.

6) What was your favorite line or slang from the movie?

I'm sorry, I wasn't listening.

7) Why did the film become such a cult favorite?

It failed at the box office and it was misunderstood by the masses (aka "f*cking amateurs")

Those who get it, we call the "achievers" - and proud we are of all of them.

8) What kind of personality do Lebowski fans tend to share?

Smart enough to get the Coens' sense of humor and irony, but silly enough to enjoy their absurdist humor.
