Although most brunettes don't receive quite as much male attention as blondes, I think brunettes frequently attract higher quality men. '

Although this age-old controversy may be silly and superficial, it really exists. Blondes have definitely owned the spotlight for many moons. They dominated the 60s, 70s, 80s and most of the 90s. Let's see, right off hand there is: Marilyn Monroe, Jayne Mansfield, Doris Day, Farrah Fawcett, Loni Anderson, Christie Brinkley, Linda Evans, Bo Derek, Kim Basinger, Heather Locklear, Pamela Anderson, Britney Spears, Anna Nicole Smith and countless more. The majority of Playboy Playmates are, you know it: BLONDE. Many of the biggest superstars and sex symbols have been blondes. In fact, you can't possibly name all the blondes, because there are too many, but you could probably tally all the world-famous brunettes on one sheet of paper. So, what's the story? I've modeled for some of the world's most popular men's magazines, like FHM, Maxim, American Curves, Stuff and Loaded, so I've learned a few things about the debate along the way. Blondes are flashy and feminine. Those golden locks catch the light and just glow...I must admit it's quite eye-catching. Blonde hair can suddenly turn an otherwise average-looking girl into "pretty."

Blondes have the reputation of being bubbly...maybe like a cheerleader. The most popular girl in school is typically a blonde. Blondes are thought to be sexy or sex symbol-like, predictable, easy and fun-loving, though not particularly bright or witty (an unfortunate stereotype.)

Blondes get a lot of attention from men, but from my experience, much of it is not of a high-quality (again depending on the blonde). A lot of men will checkout or cat-call at a blonde before even seeing her face and knowing if she's truly attractive.

I think many men see blondes as most womanly-maybe it's that fair maiden thing. Nowadays, I think a blonde has to work overtime to be exotic or standout among all the other blondes. The term "cookie cutter" has been commonly used.

Blondes will always be popular, there's no doubt about it, but do they really have more fun? I think that equation depends on the person and what you consider "fun."

BRUNETTES

Notice that brunettes are always second? I'm serious - just think about it for a moment. Even in hair product commercials, the blonde usually makes the first entrance or gets the most airtime. However, I really think the world is changing and people are starting to see that brunettes have an edge on beauty and sophistication.

Personally, I have experienced tremendous career success as a brunette. Keep in mind I've been both a brunette and a blonde. My 1st year as a model, I was a blonde, and I can truly say that my career didn't take off until I went much darker with my locks.
