This week has been a lucky one for those interested in mysterious animals: at first a bigfoot was "caught" in Georgia, now a chupacabra has been found in Texas.
Jerry Ayer, a teacher at the Blanco Taxidermy School of Texas, claims to possess a body of chupacabra one of his students found in a barn. Ayers has been a taxidermist for 10 years and says he's never seen anything like it.
Strange events involving chupacabras began popping up on the American continent at the beginning of the 20th century. Thousands of cats, dogs, goats, chickens, geese, and rabbits were found dead, all with similar signs of violent death. Has the mysterious beast returned?
Eyewitnesses claim that a creature a metre and a half long, believed to be chupacabra, had three claws on each paw, leaving footprints like those of the chicken, but much larger.
As the studies of victims' corpses showed, the fangs stuck into the neck, through the jaw, and into the brain, causing immediate death. This understanding of anatomy, and the precision of the wounds have lead some scientists to believe the culprit had a high intelligence.
Probably the most famous chupacabra sighting was Puerto Rico. There, in August 2007, an alleged chupacabra killed 30 chickens. The farm owners found 3 bodies of prospective chupacabras, but the scientists said it was a hybrid of a coyote and a grey fox, according to Telegraph.co.uk.
In 2007, Texas State University unveiled the mystery of the strange beast once again. This time chupacabra appeared to be an ordinary coyote, which had lost its fur due to age.
Translated from Spanish, chupacabra means "goat sucker." This name was given to a mythical creature after farmers found corpses of their goats sucked completely dry of blood.
Chupacabra is believed to be a hairless animal with large fangs, three claws on each paw, and sharp spines on the back.
Though nobody has actually seen a live chupacabra, the media is filled with "real" photos and videos of chupacabra, although the same can be said of its cousins the Loch Ness monster and a Bigfoot.

The animal is a fiction – and joins the ranks of other famous cryptids like Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster, and responsible government. It's just a fairy tale, no more real than Goldilocks and the 3 bears, so don't put any fast cash into Chupacabra protections measures.
