Paul McKenna Is Making Me Thin

Paul McKenna

After starting following the steps that Paul outlines in is book and listening daily to the CD, I decided to add a little to my blog about how I was finding it.

Even above the weight loss, which obviously makes me very, very happy, is the way I now feel. I am not totally worried about food and focused on what I am going to eat all the time. '

I will say upfront that I am a fan of Paul McKenna and his books and CDs. I think the methods that he uses which are based on NLP (Neuro-linguistic programming) really do work. I have only recently read ‘I Can Make You Thin’, as I definitely need to start down the (in my case very long) road to thinness and the thing that really hit home in the book is what I would call the ‘head’ stuff. If you are anything like me you have tried a hundred diets, you have cut out carbs, you have cut out fat - you have tried every single mainstream diet there is. Yes you may have lost a few pounds, you may even have lost a serious amount of weight. But gradually maintaining the fight becomes too much and you slip back to your old ways. Originally published on the Midnight Eden blog.

What Paul McKenna teaches in this book is that diets don’t work and whilst your head isn’t in alignment with your desire to be thin, everything is going to work against you.

Telling yourself how fat you are and how much you hate yourself (yes I have had many tearful afternoons in changing rooms) simply reinforces in your unconscious mind the word ‘Fat’. In fact that is all your unconscious hears and it will fight you tooth and nail to hold on to that keyword 'fat', as it believes that is what you want, as it is the only word you ever utter in front of the mirror.

Paul explains this in much more depth than I could ever hope to here, but hopefully it gives you the general gist that if you ever want to hope to lose weight and keep it off long-term, you must stop dieting. The key to weight-loss is first and foremost what is between your ears.

What also sets this book apart is the CD that comes with it - listen to this at least once a day and it strengthens and supports what you have read. One woman featured in the book, Maureen, lost a total of 18 stone using the CD. I find this absolutely inspiring and if she can do it then I can drop the 5 stone that I need to.

After starting following the steps that Paul outlines in is book and listening daily to the CD, I decided to add a little to my blog bout how I was finding it.

At first I was really doing it for my own purposes, almost to say to myself, look you have written this down now, you have got to stick with it.

This guy Paul McKenna totally ripped off Geneen Roth’s Breaking Free program–go check her out. She was the one who came up with the eating guidelines (i.e. eat what you want, when you’re hungry, till you’re satisfied, with no distractions, etc.). When I saw this guy, I was astonished that he has gotten away with stealing this program that’s been around about 20 years and claiming that it’s his.

Yeah, I think they’re great guidelines. But they aren’t his.

Yep congrats on the weight loss but crediting Paul Mckenna is going a bit far. It's kind of hard to believe a multi millionaire who charges vasts amounts of money to "help" people especially after he paid for his "university" degree. Of course it was proven in court that he had no knowledge that anyone could pay for these degrees. Paul Mckenna claims in his various books that he can, and these are the titles - make you rich, quit smoking today, quit smoking for good, make you thin, build supreme self confidence, change your life in seven days, mend your broken heart, elminate stress, and the one book that probably would live up to its title if you read it is - i can make you sleep like a log. All of these books are available in the bargain bin of any bookshop. Like i said congrats on the weight loss but its more likely down to your own will power than the "mind control" and influence of the great Paul McKenna.
