Silicone baking pans are the next generation in baking molds. Silicone makes for flexible bakeware that is fast replacing non-stick and aluminum baking pans because of its durability. Silicone baking molds can withstand temperatures of up to 500 F and are easy-to-use and a snap to clean up.
If it is a new mold, wash the silicon baking pan in hot, soapy water by hand. Avoid using scouring pads or harsh cleaners to clean the silicone mold. You can use the dishwasher to clean your silicone bakeware too. Just rinse it and place it in the top rack of the dishwasher.
Grease the pan using vegetable oil and a pastry brush or a non-stick cooking spray. Spread the greasing agent well so that no food sticks to the pan. Pour the batter made from your recipe into the pan. Or shape your cookie dough to place on the silicone cookie sheet.
Spread the batter evenly for uniform baking. Use a metal cookie sheet underneath silicone baking molds to hold the pan properly because silicone molds are highly flexible and pliable. This will also ensure that you can remove the hot baked product easily without spilling or burning yourself.
Bake the product according to the recipe instructions. Allow the pan to cool for 5 minutes and remove from oven. Remove the baked product from the silicone mold. Since silicone is pliable, you can even peel away the mold from the baked product.
