How to be a Reality TV Star

Jaime Dugan is a contestant from CBS's Survivor China, the latest installment in the adventure reality show that started it all. Jaime says Survivors past had it relatively easy, since in China, ready sources of food were even more difficult to come by. Jaime's a competitor at heart though, so she braved it all -- even eating earthworms -- for a chance at the reward.

Going in, I was definitely most apprehensive about the food situation. We had all these physical challenges, but at first we had no reliable water source; you can’t make a fire, which means you can’t boil water, which means you’re not going to have food or water for the day. We were weak and dehydrated. We got so desperate we were eating earthworms. The worms weren't that bad actually; they didn't really have a taste. I just threw them in the back of my throat and swallowed water to get them down. China is absolutely beautiful though there wasn't much fishing or vegetation in the area. I had hoped for a beach where I could go out and fish.

Jeff Probst likes to tease the contestants and it's his job to give us a hard time while we're trying to survive. The questions he asks at tribal council are just off the top of his head. He asks the questions millions of people want to know, but they're the things you don't want anyone to know. We always decided who would go based on who was causing the most controversy and just made sure we were all going to vote.

I became the first member of the jury, which means I got to participate in every tribal council after that until the end of the show. As a member of the jury, I was looking for someone who I thought was actually playing to win.
