Jackson's Cause of Death Deferred

The Los Angeles County Coroner's office has announced that they have completed the autopsy on Michael Jackson's body. There was no sign of trauma found on Jackson's body and "no indication of foul play."

The coroner has deferred Jackson's cause of death while the office waits for test results. The Los Angeles Coroner's office could wait 4 - 6 weeks for toxicology and other test results.

Parametics rushed to Jackson's home on Thursday in response to a 911 call. During the call, which was released to the public on Friday, an unknown caller can be heard to say. "He's [Jackson] not breathing ... He's not conscious." Jackson was pronounced dead at the hospital.

TMZ.com has reported that a family friend says Jackson was given an injection of Demerol before going into cardiac arrest. There are unconfirmed reports that Jackson's personal physician has fled. Police have impounded his car.

Jackson's Prescription Drug Use

Early Friday, Jackson's long-time friend Brian Oxman came forward to lay the blame on Jackson's prescription drug use. "I do not want to point fingers at anyone because I want to hear what the toxicology report says and the coroner says, but the plain fact of the matter is that Michael Jackson had prescription drugs at his disposal at all times," Oxman said. Oxman went on to say that Jackson was taking drugs, in particular painkillers, to deal with past dance injuries.

Jackson's Comeback Tour

Beginning July 13, Jackson was slated to perform at 50 London shows as part of his Comeback Tour. It's been speculated that Jackson had increased his intake of prescription drugs in order to rehearse for his upcoming tour.

Jackson's Talent

During his career, Jackson won widespread acclaim for his many hits including "Billie Jean," "Beat It" and "Thriller." He was recognized as a talented performer and revolutionized the music video genre.
