"Funny Games" Dark, Atypical

"Funny Games" gets creepier by the second with its atypical outcomes.

Talented Cast but Disturbing Visuals

Viewers wanting to see a hostage situation without your typical Hollywood ending may take a gander on Funny Games, a deadly serious movie that's intelligently written with very disturbing characters beneath all that 1st class.

Plot and Characters

How can nice people go so wrong? That's the big question confronting happily married couple George and Anna when they unwittingly make the acquaintance of a couple of new neighbors.

All the loving couple wants is a bit of peace and quite with their young son Georgie. What they encounter, deep within the luxury confines of a rich east coast enclave, are 2 "nice" young men who prove to be anything but.

Peter and Paul, well-mannered Ivy League snobs, engage in a viscous assault on the family that gets creepier by the second. Whether the family can survive the high-class slavery these creeps put them through is anyone's guess as the situation gets grimmer and nerves unravel.

Deadlines come and go but viewers will be left shaken by the fear conjured up in this movie.

Talented Cast, but Disturbing Visuals

Australian treasure Naomi Watts (King Kong) plays wife Anna, while Tim Roth (Pulp Fiction) plays the husband who gets under the skin of the educated baby-face terrorists.

Cast as the tag team bad boys Paul and Peter are Michael Pitt (Finding Forester) and Brady Corbet (Thirteen). Onlookers will be freaked out by the bad nature of the tormentors.
