Craigslist: As seen in casual encounters.

Then there was the farm owner who wanted to pay me 45 dollars an hour to lay half-naked on logs and hay, wearing only a mask while he took snapshots. '

It started one night when a friend trying to help me in the employment arena told me to check out a website called Craigslist. One click and I was in love.

There were links to interesting and somewhat strange jobs in my area, not to mention pets and free medical supplies. Also available: one-stop-shopping for the free and willing (Casual Encounters) as well as those who are willing provided there is a donation (Erotic Services). One year and three semi-sexual experiences later I have acquired everything from a stripper pole, to a transvestite pseudo-BFF named Susan.

The pole came from an ad in Oregon, three hours away from my house. A 30-year-old dancer trying to get out of the game was offering her stainless steel pole at a reduced price with a free lesson thrown in.

The adult gigs section of Craigslist had always entranced me, as had the promises of "600 bucks a night," "low house fees," and the ever-popular "women owned and operated"! I never thought I would ever take one of those jobs, but just the thought of being able to remove my bra and panties while being upside down on a pole while simultaneously doing the splits was something that drew me in.

So I traveled down to Portland and purchased this stainless steel pole for $200 from a bleach blonde with three kids outside of a busy mall, shocking all the folks passing by. Next of course came the hunt for ads showing platform patent leather shoes with nurse’s logos on them, corseted tank tops, and the greatest thigh-highs invented. I even got pretty good on the pole, but couldn't get up the nerve to actually dance at a club, at least not yet.

I have been able to obtain two forms of employment through Craigslist. One as a sweeper/cleaner for a large chain of storage units that would have been profitable given the decent hourly rate.
