Return to Darfur: Day 2

For now, the i-ACT 5 team is in the capital of Chad, hundreds of miles from Darfuri refugees. Scott, Colin, KTJ and I encountered several obstacles including late permits, missing a flight to the E, no rooms at Le Meridien, and a major delay at uploading Day 1 video due to technical difficulties.

For now, the team regroups and awaits word from our UNHCR friends about travel and the situation in the East. While we patiently wait in N'Djamena, our hearts and our minds remain strongly connected to our refugee friends. In Shallah, we will be with them soon. It is our hope that our activity here raises awareness and brings protection to Darfuris living in Chad, and those who are still inside Darfur. Every day people are dying, and it is us, the international community, who needs to do more to ensure that every life deserves the freedom to live, and the protection that guarantees this.
