I think it's simply amazing that there's a global reaction to what's happening in Tibet, and I would hope that such an outcry will also occur when other tragedies in the world happen, but certainly HH the Dalai Lama has been such an ambassador for Tibet, and human rights.

I personally love watching the Olympics and watching our athletes compete, but these games are as controversial as they come - how do you welcome a country that blatantly abuses the human rights of its own citizens not to mention Tibetans, also knowing that we have our own problems in our own backyard.

I hope that the raising of awareness of human rights, human dignity also has some positive effect on our own western culture and daily lives.
