The Scoop From Santa

With so much to do in preparation for Christmas, Santa Claus is one tough guy to get a hold of! Lucky for you, Orato managed to track him down at Bloomingdale's in New York, just before his schedule filled up with holiday appearances. There were some secrets Santa couldn't reveal, but here's a little peek at the what makes the big man behind Christmas tick.

Orato: We’ll start with the question most kids wonder at some point in their lives: How do you manage to be in so many places at once in the days and weeks before the big day?

Santa: It’s magic! . . . and I have many representatives.

Orato: You’ve seen your share of ‘naughty’ and ‘nice’ over the years – how do you keep track, and how long does it take to change your reputation from ‘naughty’ to ‘nice?’

Santa: The elves help me keep track. Jumping to the “nice” list is easy. All it takes is one good deed to help another.

Orato:
Some kids get a little freaked out when they visit you for the first time – that doesn’t go down in their permanent record as being naughty, does it?

Santa: Absolutely not! It can be overwhelming at times, and I understand.

Orato: Have you ever actually given anyone a lump of coal for Christmas? What were the circumstances, and how bad do you have to be to find that in your stocking?

Santa:
I never leave pure coal in a stocking. Sometimes I put it under extreme pressure and turn the coal into diamonds. People seem to like that.

Orato: Has anyone ever caught you as you filled their stocking? Tell us about some close calls.

Santa: No one has ever caught me - I’m Santa Claus!

Orato:
What about houses that don’t have fireplaces? How do you get in?

Santa: It’s a magical power you might not fully understand. Think of it like turning into fine mist that can go under windows and doors.

Orato: Let’s talk about Mrs. Claus. Why doesn’t she ever join you for the deliveries on Christmas Eve?

Santa: She keeps the home fires burning, as they say.

Well, I've already told you what I'd like this year so I won't tell you again :) Just wanted to let you know we've cleaned out our chimney so you shouldn't have any troubles getting in.

Stay cool, Santa

OK, Santa, how about World Peace and the ability to run a sub-8-minute/mile marathon? Plus a great holiday season for all 3249 (and counting) Orato correspondents. I don't want much...

Hi Santa--I already put in my request to some others to help a man that's in a wheelchair that I met last year at the NY Rangers Toys for Tots. It was way too cold this year when the Rangers hosted their Toys for Tots. Since I didn't want him to wait out in the cold for 3 hours for the Rangers to come out of their workshop to sign autographs and take pictures with him, I went ahead and got him the autographs myself. Only issue was that he already had 2 of those 3 autographs already!!!!

I requested some help from the NY Rangers and I don't know what they have in store for him...but I hope it's wonderful (and I hope they do something special for him).

What I'd like for Christmas is that you give Rolly the best Christmas of his life. He gives so much to the world, I think it's time the world gave back to him.

Me...why, I don't need any material things...but if you want to drop off some of that true love my way...I'd be forever grateful. ; )

Hi Santa - for Christmas I would like a few less grey hairs and world peace, not necessarily in that order. Please let me know if you're allergic to nuts or lactose intolerant so I know what to leave out for you.

Thanks,
