Be aware, and have no fear, the terrorist threat is not really here. '

99.999999 % of all crimes committed are not terrorist related. Only 1 millionth of all crimes are terrorist attacks. Less than 10 attacks have occurred outside of the Middle East in the last 10 years.

Politicians like to over-hype the threat of terrorism, and every year at the festive season of Christmas, the 'threat of terrorist attacks' is the message that politicians send to the public. Since the 2001 attacks on New York, the U.S. and U.K. Government has used the media to promote the message of possible attacks , which only installs fear into people.

So what is the threat that we have to be 'aware' of ? There are many more crimes which potentially affect us across the world, and we are told by politicians , through the media that we have to be
'vigilant'. It is merely propaganda over an issue blown out of proportion.

If we are so under threat by an invasion of ' terrorists', then why don't we all just stay indoors and live like scared hermits? Every day we go to work, or go shopping or go to nightclubs, we are at risk from muggings, robberies, drunk drivers, rapists and murderers-not to mention cybercriminals and
con men stealing from our bank accounts and anti-social thugs who verbally attack us.

The number of terrorist attacks in countries other than the Middle East is very small, and only accounts for .000001% (one millionth) of all crimes committed. When politicians suddenly announce that terrorists might attack, we should recognize that as an over-hyped threat, small and insignificant.
