More Oil, More War and Less Safe Than Before-
a synopsis of Iraq's current situation.

It is fair to say that Western countries were always under a possible threat from foreign terrorist factions and regimes. Possibly. We cannot be sure which factions or regime is the biggest threat- Al-Qaeda, North Korea or perhaps the Russians.
Extremely violent Islamic factions have probably always seen the emerging giant America as the biggest threat to the East, in terms of bringing unwanted American culture, business and rule to the East.

America is a huge country, with a massive economy that physically requires more resources than most other countries, and the American oil industry is currently at the heart of maintaining American dominance. It is known that Saddam Hussein wanted to sell his oil on the European market, whereas all oil sold in American dollars in Europe is currently being 'taxed' by America.
If Iraq's oil is bought and sold in Euros, then America no longer recieves the tax on that oil. Iraq's oil is a massive prize to America.

Firstly, calculations on the value of Iraq's oil now, and in the future was determined by Western oil companies and economists. When Iraq was invaded, the Saddam Regime was replaced by American-chosen experts in the oil industry, meaning that Iraq's new Government were the few Iraqi politicians who agreed with America on the privatisation of Iraq's oil, the contracts and deals made under the
guidance and suggestions of America.

Out of Iraq's known 80 largest oil fields, America will 'lease' 63 of them under what is known as a production sharing agreement (PSA) which is usually controlled by the state, therefore determining the extent of oil field leasing.
