Afghanistan is a wretched country of the world, where there is an organized, ongoing movement against education. The movement, which calls itself the Taliban, is depriving Afghan children from education by killing them and their teachers. They set schools on fire and attack on teachers. The most recent incidents were the killing of four females and one male in the Narang area of eastern Kunar province. Two of the females were teachers in an adjacent school and they were threatened several times by the "Sharia Inforcers," the Taliban.

On December 7, insurgents killed headmaster of a high school Mohammad Rahim in the Chanjeer area of Helmand province. The high school is now closed and an official confirmed that 124 schools are closed in the province out of all 224 schools. An official in Kabul had been quoted that 300 schools were closed in southern provinces after militants threatened the teachers and burned some schools.

Many Afghans in and outside of Afghanistan were happy when the new government hold control of Kabul and raised its agenda of "Peace, Democracy, Education and Reconstruction". But the agenda is still uncompleted as the Taliban are killing people and destroying roads, schools and hospitals. The gang is now notorious for doing any thing that terrorizing people in Afghanistan.

Recently a Taliban spokesman, Dr Mohmmad Hanif, captured by Afghan forces who was a key element in the militants' propaganda war. Officials have found some letters with him which indicates that a top Taliban military commander Mullah Dadullah was involved in the killing of another top Taliban commander Mullah Akhter Osmani. This is a proof that the gang is not only destroying Afghans and Afghanistan but they are killing each other too to make their masters happy.

Anyway, the Afghan government and international community must do something for the Afghan children who are deprived of education and other human rights. And this is a responsibility not only of the government and international community but people of Afghanistan are also responsible for it. They should unite and raise a war against the enemies of Afghanistan and humanity by themselves. Their children of today are their leaders of tomorrow. If the leaders are uneducated the nation will never live a life of human beings.
