Not A Tribute To Saddam Hussein

Saddam Hussein was given very little International legal representation, and died in Iraq's barbaric medieval gallows.

It is not a tragedy that Saddam Hussein is dead, but I am opposed to the death penalty, and only see executions as a barbaric medieval method which some countries utilize. In today's modern society, it is disturbing that the United Nations have not made the death penalty illegal under a U.N. Charter law.

I don't believe that such evil people like Hussein achieve 'martyr' status. I believe it to be an Arabic myth. If God judges us by what we do, then Hussein will be condemned to (dare I say it) Hell. There is also the belief in many religions that God forgives sinners. I believe that. Perhaps there is a pergatory place for sinners after life?

I read an article at the Orato site yesterday which asked,'Does God only kill?'

I only believe that men kill men, and God cannot stop it happening. It is up to mankind to use conversation and trading/business to settle differences. War is what happens when all talks and deals are abandoned. War in Iraq was made to happen by the U.S. Bush administration, to capitalize upon Iraq's frail economy.

In 1997, an organisation/ideology called 'The Project for the New American Century' (PNAC) was started , which included Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, John Bolton, Paul Wolfwitz and Richard Perle.

The project included analysis from the major U.S. defense groups,
and suggested that the U.S. should invade and control regions in the world either gripped by dictatorships or those who economically compete and seek to become super-powers.

The PNAC makes it clear that after the invasion of these chosen regions, the U.S. miltary could shape those countries to best serve America's interests. The Middle East is suggested as a prime target by the PNAC, due to it's large oil deposits.

Hussein was targetted for removal, and the U.S. achieved a 60+Iraqi oil field lease contract in 2005, lasting 30 years and earning $300Billion for the U.S. The Bush Administration, with the likes of Rumsfeld ,Cheney and Bush and investors are able to control Iraq's oil supply for decades to come.
