I'm the co-founder of MyFreeImplants.com, which is a website where women wanting breast implants create profiles and benefactors donate money toward their enhancement goals. The typical $6,000 price tag is too much for many, but currently we have members in over 30 countries.
One frequently-asked question is, "What would motivate a man to donate money for a stranger's breast implants?" People are motivated to part with their money all the time. Why do guys spend hundreds of dollars buying strangers drinks in a club? Usually it's to get to know random women.
The website is the same concept, except the money goes to a good cause, you get to know the women better and the results are "measurable." Also, at MyFreeImplants.com, men are the ones who are pursued, whereas in a bar/club it's the men chasing the women. Men pick and choose who they want to help out. It takes hard work and a strategy. Advertising off the site is key as well for finding new members.
The women who are successful are between 18-45 and spend several hours per day on the site. The relationship between members and benefactors is strictly online. We're extremely careful about restricting personal info available publicly - only country and time zone are indicated. If anything else is displayed in messages or profiles, we do our best to remove it or remove the member.
Although cyber-begging has been around for quite some time, MyFreeImplants.com is the first website to do it on such a large scale. The site is controversial because it's about plastic surgery and contains some nudity. Europe has been very receptive and positive about the concept. The BBC did a documentary on the website over a year and a half ago, even filming a surgery. Other surgeries are wanted by women, but we're not seeing enough people willing to pay for them.
The website makes less than 10% off the top after credit card fees. That leaves enough to run the site and do marketing and promotional activities. Both founders work full time at "real jobs" and have taken zero salaries.

Jay - I think you are right that the women using your service are independent, free thinkers making their own decision, but that doesn't mean there's nothing wrong with this picture. Yes, it's because of MTV/Media etc. that so many women are unhappy with their breasts...but silicone isn't the solution...a reminder that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes would be better. Women need to make the choice for themselves to love their bodies as they are...After all, if we help change beauty standards by widening the definition of what is beautiful, don't we all benefit? There would be more beauty!
In my opinion, conforming to the artificial standard just wouldn't ever be worth the health risks. I believe I heard that 100 per cent of breast implants will need to be replaced before a woman dies.
The donation of money is interesting...I was talking to a stripper friend of mine last night, and she said that in that kind of business exchange, (ie: sex work), neither dancer nor client ever has more power over the other...so in that way, this site is a fair exchange, not exploitive...
The problem for me is that women have been trained into a warped view of their sexuality. It's all based on what men want...what about what we want, what we find sexy? It's time the culture be more inclusive and reflect women's own desires...
my two cents...
Hi Jay. There's one thing I wonder about. What happens to the money of the women who don't raise enough to get their boobs done? And if your site shuts down suddenly, where will the money go?
This is not really a criticism of your site or operation, but i worry that when women associate confidence with their breast site.
It's unfortunate, and yet i'm not naive enough to think that it doesn't matter either the way we value ourselves physically more than we do in terms of our inner qualities.
Hi Trina,
That's a great question. When a women quits the site the money is returned to the benefactor who spent it. Although, they cannot pocket it the money but must transfer it to another lady on the site. This process ensures any money raised will benefit someone in our community.
As for the site shutting down. That's extremely unlikely. We've been in operation for over two years and are financially stable. If for some unknown reason we had to close, as trustees of the womens funds, they would be paid individually for what they earned thus far.
Luyen,
I agree. Inner beauty is undervalued in our society given that it won't fade, whereas physical beauty will.
But it's almost impossible to sell someone, you don't need this operation, you're beautiful on the inside, and expect them to agree and be happy.
Very true Jay - so maybe my post was mis-placed on such a topic! Maybe i was lured in by the over-powering photo of the story...which might say something about my inner qualities ;-)
