Staff Jobs - Stewards, Waiters, Entertainers

If you want to find cruise ship employment, you can't just check the local newspaper ads. To find a cruise ship job, you'll need to be prepared to head directly to each cruise ship company's site to look for cruise line employment opportunities.

You can certainly apply to be a steward, but in addition to all the staff needed to run the vessel, a cruise ship needs restaurant staff, casino staff, entertainers, hair stylists, massage therapists and art instructors.

Consider the routes, the length of duty and land-to-sea ratio so that you know you'll actually be able to see the world while it passes by. Check sites for customer reviews and reputations and ask people who've done it for references and recommendations rather than believing all the hype. It's not all The Love Boat, so make sure you can get over the sea sickness and embrace the lifestyle as you go from port to port.

You'll probably come across sites for cruise line jobs that list openings for many different cruise lines. While some of these sites are fine to use, others charge a fee for applying. In addition to those resources listed below, look into American, Carnival, Norwegian, P&O, Discovery, Oceania, Princess, Viking, Swan Hellenic, World Explorer, Holland America and Cruise West.

Resources

Before you apply for your new cruise ship job, be sure the resume reflects all of your experience in that job field and that your address info, job history and education information has been updated. Have your resume ready to go and saved in .txt and .doc format before you start searching for cruise ship jobs to apply for opportunities that interest you without delay.
