Matt: I learned a lot about the different styles of dance, I think. Probably the biggest thing I learned was about adapting as a dancer. You need to adapt to every single style and you need to do it at a really fast rate because that’s pretty much the only way I’ll make it in the dance world. How to work with other dancers, not just contemporary dancers, but working with hip-hop dancers and ballroom dancers. That was a really big learning lesson because everyone has a way different learning style than your genre.
Kourtni: I learned so many things, but I learned a lot about myself and the way I work with people and just working with a partner so closely and just to not let anything get to me, as far as comments and critique and all that. I learned very well to absorb it and to learn from it, but to not let it bring me down and to not let it get me discouraged, which is a big thing that I’ve struggled with living here in L.A. for the past year. So I feel like I have a very good head on my shoulders coming out of the whole experience.
