Why You Should See The Hulk

With their new movie, The Incredible Hulk, released June 13, Louis Letterrier and Edward Norton hope to bring honor back to the angry green giant.

I must say that I am greatly excited about the new Incredible Hulk movie that hits theaters on June 13; and you should be too, for two reasons. One, the Hulk has long been one of the favorite characters in the world of comic books because of his constant inner struggle to be human, control his demons, and yet be a hero all at the same time, knowing he has the power to do things others cannot.

We can all learn from the Hulk. We all have our own personal demons that we have to control to make good on our relationships and not harm the world around us. But it is also our demons that help make us who we are and mold us into individuals. We each face the daily struggle to do the right thing, the unpopular thing, or even what some might consider wrong or destructive for the greater good. Hulk is an exaggerated view of humanity, and even though he is far from real, he is the most human of the comic book personalities because in the end, his greatest enemy is himself.

Enough of that. The other reason I am so stoked is because this new movie has Edward Norton, along with a great cast, and is in no way related to that terrible monstrosity that was directed by Ang Lee a few years back. Between Hulk fighting radioactive dogs and Nick Nolte being somekind of mighty-morphin'-terrible-actor-guy, it was impossible to stomach even for a Hulk fan.

Here's to change, here's to new beginnings, and here's to knowing that sometimes you have to release the Hulk in you to change the world.
